Monday June 1: Pretty good day :)

Here's what my day was like today:

Exercise: Yes! Total body cardio :)

Bfast- 2 eggs with fresh garlic, scallions, red pepper, and a miz of cheddar and parmesan cheese. Super yum-o and filling

snack 1- oat and honey 1/2 granola bar (of package)

lunch- apple bran muffin from timmy hoes and green smoothie made with spinach and greek yogurt

snack 2-    1/2 graham cracker, 2 PB lance crackers (okay, yeah that's gross I know...)

dinner- chick peas, cukes, tomatoes, basalmic vinegar, onion powder salt. Yum! Then cut up banana and strawberries in unsweetened almond milk, with cinnamon. Slightly heated :))

bedtime snack- tiny bit of protein powder with unsweetened almond milk.

Cheats for the day: cream in my coffee!!!

Overall I had a pretty good day even though I did not stick to the plan 100 million%. But I'll take it!!

It's go time.

Alright so, today is my second time trying the 21-day fix. I did a pretty ruddy job the first time around! But I have to say that I absolutely love it. At least, I have a drive to not give up, no matter how SLOW I am to make better habits. And, probably like many of you,FOOD is the hardest part. I can show up for a workout and ruin my healthy lifestyle with bad food choices, all within a matter of hours. And the secret I have found is this: the "itty-bitty' cheats are actually e worst. Sticking to your plan (yes you must plan), one bite of a treat, though it is outside your "food budget" for the day? Because one by one, those bites add up. And they kill. They kill your drive to keep eating healthy... and they ruin your plan. Now nobody is perfect and we WILL cheat sometimes. But hopefully less than we used to! Just tell yourself, "I'll let myself have this treat NEXT time." It might actually be really helpful to sit down at the moment of your craving and PLAN OUT when you will have a splurge that week. And then just stick to the plan!! Keep accountable with others, do not let shame or guilt drive you to make worse choices, and try to positively inspire someone along the way. You don't have to be in the perfect shape of your life to be able to encourage others to be healthier. You just have to be actively TRYING to be that, yourself. How else could imperfect ol' me be writing this blog??

PS, no I am not into "fixes" of healthy. I'm all about healhty-4-life! But the beachbody program I mentioned earlier is a steping stone to better habits and a bit of a life overhaul. LMK if you have questions :)
